應義斌1980年09月至1984年07月，在江蘇大學（時稱鎮江農業機械學院）本科學習；
1984年08月至1986年09月，在江蘇大學（時稱江蘇工學院）任教；
1986年09月至1989年07月，在浙江農業大學農業工程系學習，獲碩士學位；
1989年08月至1995年01月，在浙江農業大學農業工程系任教；
1995年01月至1997年04月，任浙江農業大學工程技術學院副院長；
1997年04月至1998年03月，任浙江農業大學工程技術學院副院長（主持工作）；
1998年03月至1998年09月，任浙江農業大學工程技術學院院長，其間：1998年8月晉升教授；
1998年09月至1999年07月，在浙江大學任教（四校合併、職級保留）；
1999年07月至2000年01月，任浙江大學農業工程與食品科學學院常務副院長；
