1963.11出生 博士生導師。主要從事魚類學、系統學和生物地理學研究,先後主持或參加10多項國家、中國科學院以及農業部的科研項目,是中國科學院知識創新工程項目《A:青藏高原及其鄰近地區動物區系及分布格局研究》(2000-2004)的首席科學家之一。堅持生物進化與地球演化同步的觀點,在對青藏高原魚類的分布格局及其演化過程的研究中,與其同事一起提出了青藏高原區在動物地理區劃中是與古北區及東洋區有著同等地位的觀點。近年來尤其注意從巨觀生物學的角度來揭示青藏高原及全球氣候變冷對我國淡水魚類區域性分化的影響,研究不同區域魚類區系之間的歷史關聯及其分異過程;並從適應性進化的角度探討生物多樣性的起源問題,通過高原魚類物種分化在形態上和分子水平上的不同表現形式及其相關程度的分析,研究在青藏高原隆起過程中魚類物種分化與形成的機制。已發現魚類1個新屬、5個新種和新亞種,曾獲得中科院科學進步二等獎、自然科學三等獎以及甘肅省技術改進二等獎各1項。主編完成專著1部,參與完成3部,發表論文近40篇。目前是中華人民共和國瀕危物種科學委員會、中國科學院分類區系學科發展專家委員會以及中國科學院國家生物標本館網路建設專家委員會委員,中國海洋湖沼學會副秘書長,中國魚類學會秘書長。
