Love is more thicker than forget,
More thinner than recall,
More seldom than a wave is wet
More frequent than to fail
It is most mad and moonly
And less it shall unbe
Than all the sea which only
Is deeper than the sea
Love is less always than to win
Less never than alive
Less bigger than the least begin
Less littler than forgive
It is most sane and sunly
And more it cannot die
Than all the sky which only
Is higher than the sky

作品鑑賞

這首詩較為晦澀，但有較深的含義。它是用各；種抽象的和具體的事物去和愛情比較，說明愛情是不可比較的，用各種不同的方式去。度量。愛情，又說明愛情是不可度量的。“愛情比忘卻厚、比回憶薄”是說愛情是不會忘卻的，也不是存在於回憶中的，它是既現實、又永恆的東西。“不大於無法開始，不小於諒解”這兩行是說愛情是可以開始的，伹真正的開始又是很難的，同時，諒解在愛情中是不可缺少的，甚至可以說，沒有諒解就沒有愛情。“愛情總比勝利少見，卻比活著多些。一句似乎應理解為，真正的，成功的愛情並不多，但是珍貴，它超越生命。第二段和最後一段合在一起是說，愛情既是人類的理智和感情中矛盾衝突最激烈又是永恆的、和不朽的東西。這首詩里的大多數句子都寓哲理於形象之中，耐人尋味。“比海洋更深的海洋'和“比天空更高的天空。，意在超越，是全詩中最富意境的兩句。
