人物
按照天使等級從高到低，四面的有：
1、薩拉弗（Seraphim），六翼四面（頭）天使，多稱之為熾天使。聖經舊約中的以賽亞書（）種對此類天使描寫很多，刻畫得也比較詳細。（還有舊約中的啟示錄（Revelation）對該類天使也有很詳細的描寫，尤其是頭部。不過在我看來啟示錄中說的其實是4個擁有不同面孔的天使，而不是一個擁有4種不同面孔的天使。反正我不了解一般認為Seraph有4個面孔的說法是怎么來的。）另外偽經中的以諾書（Enoch）對天使也作了很多聖經上沒有的詳細介紹。
2、基路伯（Cherubim），四翼四面天使。舊約中的創世記（Genesis）和出埃及記（Exodus）都提到過這種天使。但是對於這種天使的詳細描述當推舊約中的厄則科爾書（Ezekiel），其中提到該類天使有四翼四面。
3、座天使（Thrones、Ophanim或者Galgallin），四翼四面天使。在厄則科爾書（Ezekiel）中對四翼四面有著詳細的描寫，至少提到了有四個面孔。
本人以為這三類高等天使之間的分類關係比較混亂，聖經對這些天使的描寫很難統一分成3類，因為聖經並不側重對天使進行嚴密刻畫，不過是看到啥寫啥，連名稱都很難統一。國外甚至有人認為天使只有一種，不同的只是名稱。
主要事件
我觀看，見狂風從北方刮來，隨著有一朵包括閃爍火的大雲，周圍有光輝。從其中的火內發出好像光耀的精金。
And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.
1:5 又從其中顯出四個活物的形像來。他們的形狀是這樣，有人的形像，
Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.
1:6 各有四個臉面，四個翅膀。
And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings.
1:7 他們的腿是直的，腳掌好像牛犢之蹄，都燦爛如光明的銅。
And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.
1:8 在四面的翅膀以下有人的手。這四個活物的臉和翅膀乃是這樣，
And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings.
1:9 翅膀彼此相接，行走並不轉身，俱各直往前行。
Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward.
1:10 至於臉的形像，前面各有人的臉，右面各有獅子的臉，左面各有牛的臉，後面各有鷹的臉。
As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.
1:11 各展開上邊的兩個翅膀相接，各以下邊的兩個翅膀遮體。
Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.
1:12 他們俱各直往前行。靈往哪裡去，他們就往那裡去，行走並不轉身。
And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went.
1:13 至於四活物的形像，就如燒著火炭的形狀，又如火把的形狀。火在四活物中間上去下來，這火有光輝，從火中發出閃電。
As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning.
1:14 這活物往來奔走，好像電光一閃。
And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.
1:15 我正觀看活物的時候，見活物的臉旁各有一輪在地上。
Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces.
1:16 輪的形狀和顏色（原文作作法）好像水蒼玉。四輪都是一個樣式，形狀和作法好像輪中套輪。
The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour of a Beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel.
1:17 輪行走的時候，向四方都能直行，並不掉轉。
When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not when they went.
1:18 至於輪輞，高而可畏。四個輪輞周圍滿有眼睛。
As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of eyes round about them four.
1:19 活物行走，輪也在旁邊行走。活物從地上升，輪也都上升。
And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.
1:20 靈往哪裡去，活物就往那裡去。活物上升，輪也在活物旁邊上升，因為活物的靈在輪中。
Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
1:21 那些行走，這些也行走。那些站住，這些也站住。那些從地上升，輪也在旁邊上升，因為活物的靈在輪中。
When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
1:22 活物的頭以上有穹蒼的形像，看著像可畏的水晶，鋪張在活物的頭以上。
And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was as the colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above.
1:23 穹蒼以下，活物的翅膀直張，彼此相對。每活物有兩個翅膀遮體。
And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the other: every one had two, which covered on this side, and every one had two, which covered on that side, their bodies.
1:24 活物行走的時候，我聽見翅膀的響聲，像大水的聲音，像全能者的聲音，也像軍隊哄囔的聲音。活物站住的時候，便將翅膀垂下。
And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings.
1:25 在他們頭以上的穹蒼之上有聲音。他們站住的時候，便將翅膀垂下。
And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings.
1:26 在他們頭以上的穹蒼之上有寶座的形像，彷佛藍寶石。在寶座形像以上有彷佛人的形狀。
And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.
1:27 我見從他腰以上有彷佛光耀的精金，周圍都有火的形狀，又見從他腰以下有彷佛火的形狀，周圍也有光輝。
And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about.
1:28 下雨的日子，雲中虹的形狀怎樣，周圍光輝的形狀也是怎樣。這就是耶和華榮耀的形像。我一看見就俯伏在地，又聽見一位說話的聲音。
As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.
