today, I read the unit5 and found this essay is worth discussing and understanding. In the beginning of the para1, the author asked us a question---what do you look for in a potential date? ---and most of us just like intellectual rank good looks near the bottom of the list. But in the next paragraph, the writer showed a file drawer full of research studies to indicate physical attractiveness are (is)a great asset.
We deny the effect of the appearance, because we think “beauty is only skin deep” To contrast, in today’s society more and more researchers have addressed that appearance is a powerful determinant of initial attraction and in some experiments, women are(were) virtually as much influenced by a man’s looks as men are (were)by (a) woman’s Is the physical-attractiveness stereotype accurate? Maybe it is really a truth as our eyes like beauty!
