目標成為外科醫生的醫學院學生蘇珊·維勒（勞倫·艾波羅絲 Lauren Ambrose 飾）和幾名同齡人來到桃樹紀念醫院實習，遇到了曾在泳池救過自己的馬克·柏羅（Steven Pasquale 飾）。緊張忙碌的實習生活讓她倍感充實，可是沒多久她卻發現一個奇怪的現象，醫院在短期內出現了數量極不正常的術後昏迷者，而最後這些昏迷者無一例外被送往傑斐遜研究中心——一個對外宣稱專門照顧植物人以及昏迷患者的神秘機構。蘇珊通過各種辦法查找昏迷者和傑斐遜研究中心之間的聯繫，而她的舉動自然引起某些人的注意。在接下來的日子裡，針對蘇珊的事故和警告頻頻發生，可越是這樣，她越無法停止接近真相的腳步，一樁藏身醫療體系背後的黑幕即將浮出水面……
本片根據作家羅賓·庫克（Robin Cook）於1977年創作的小說改編。

很長的一首歌曲,不過很奇怪,槍花的演唱會上很少唱這首歌.Coma據說是主唱Axl在錄音棚一覺醒來後的作品,但我非常喜歡,有人說這首Estranged(也是很好的)是他們編曲最好的一首,但我還是認為coma是最好的.
