形態
植株高57-80厘米。根狀莖短而橫臥或斜升。葉近生；葉柄長27-40厘米，粗1.5-2.5毫米，基部近黑色，疏被棕色的披針形鱗片，向上為栗棕色或紅棕色，無毛，有光澤；葉片長30-40厘米，寬8-12厘米，披針形，先端漸尖並羽裂，基部不變狹，二回羽狀深裂；羽片約18對，對生或向上的互生，斜展，相距1.5-3.5厘米，無柄，基部一對不縮短，中部羽片長5-7厘米，寬8-12毫米，狹披針形，漸尖頭，基部截形，對稱，羽狀深裂達羽軸兩側的狹翅，翅寬3-4毫米；裂片18-24對，平展，長3-5毫米（基部一對同大或稍短），寬2-3毫米，長圓形或三角狀長圓形，先端圓鈍，全緣。葉脈較明顯，側脈斜上，單一，每裂片4-5（-6）對，基部一對出自主脈基部稍上處。葉草質，乾後棕綠色，下面除被橙紅色的圓球形腺體外無毛；上面沿羽軸的縱溝被淺棕色的針狀毛，沿葉脈略有少數短毛；葉軸棕色，有光澤，下面光滑，上面疏被短毛。孢子囊群圓形，背生於側脈中部，每裂片約3對；囊群蓋大，圓腎形，棕色，膜質，彼此幾相接，背面光滑無毛，宿存。

長江以南各省區、北達河南（付牛山南部、大別山和桐柏山）、安徽北部、東到台灣，南至海南，向西達四川、雲南
