[1] 2015年2月8日，接受南方日報專訪，以“短期依靠研究機構長期還看高等教育[3]”為題，闡述對佛山創新體系建設的看法與建議，該文被中國共產黨新聞網、網易、和訊等媒體轉載。
[2] 2015年12月1日，應邀參加“第四屆中國南方智庫論壇”，谷斌教授表示，在新世紀環境下，走創新驅動發展路線是中國實現可持續發展與現代化建設的必然選擇。鼓勵大眾創業、萬眾創新是實施創新驅動發展戰略的重要內容與動力。在他看來，“網際網路+”是未來社會發展的必然形態，創新活動將越來越呈現出“大眾化”，“因此，中國應以‘網際網路+’為契機，以創新驅動引領中國發展。”
