I am confused “soar” with “sore” through reading. They are similar in spelling and there are only four alphabets which made them difficult to remember and distinguish. In dictionary, “soar” means fly high, sail in the air or rise dramatically, while painful feelings, distressing, annoyed or severely are the different meanings of “sore”. I can’t guarantee myself that I can get them completely and use them suitably when I finished learning this composition.
In the sixth paragraph, the writer mentioned that economic improvements couldn’t ensure for happiness increase. I am support this viewpoint. Economic improvements in most developing countries are based on polluting which made people disgusted with the environment. In developed countries, people are the same, although they are less influenced by pollution. Economic improvements also bring other problems such as spirit disease because of exceeding stress, physical disease because of overwork. From the above facts, how can we say that we are happier than before?
In the following paragraphs, the writer brought up four typical characteristics about happy people. They are positive self-esteem, good personal control, optimistic attitude and extrovert character. From the objective point of view, these are correct. However, few people could enjoy their life in this way freely. They have to deal with many problems they didn’t want to. In another words, there are countless unavoidable things around us. Furthermore, the world is so splendid that we couldn’t resist its attraction. How to master the extent properly is a hard work to every person. As we know, speak is always easier than work.
Another thing I guessed from writer’s sentences is that he views happiness a relative definition. The four factors above are the confines conditions to possess happiness.
