簡介
黃開金1968年10月出生於湖北省鄂州市。1986年7月畢業於湖北省著名的黃岡中學；
1990年7月畢業於華中理工大學（現更名為華中科技大學）金屬材料及熱處理專業；
1993年4月畢業於華中理工大學金屬材料及熱處理專業，獲得工學碩士學位，師從謝長生教授；
1993年5月—1996年8月在湖北省武漢市楚天雷射集團股份有限公司工作；
1999年11月畢業於華中科技大學材料學專業，獲得工學博士學位，師從謝長生教授；
1999年12月—2001年12月在華中科技大學電氣工程博士後流動站從事博士後研究工作；
2002年1月—2002年12月在華中科技大學材料學院工作；
2003年1月—2004年12月在香港理工大學工業與系統工程學系從事合作研究，
2003年7月20—26日到美國紐奧良大學參加ICCE-10國際會議；
2005年1月—目前在華中科技大學材料學院工作，
2005年12月應邀訪問香港理工大學。
2002年3月晉升副教授。
