背景
知名的「瑪麗有一隻小羊」、「倫敦鐵橋倒下來」等童謠，就是所謂的"鵝媽媽童謠"。鵝媽媽童謠隨著時間經過，內容不斷擴大，包涵數百首童謠。童謠中又包含許多血腥、殘酷的句子，這主要是由於鵝媽媽童謠當時黑暗的時代背景。
由於自己最喜愛的作家在作品中大量的引用鵝媽媽童謠（Mother Goose），使得我對鵝媽媽童謠深感興趣。大家對童謠的印象大多是充滿童趣與溫馨的，絕對不會想到還有這些古老且殘酷的童謠的存在，但古老的童謠可以追溯到當時的時代背景及社會人文風貌，藉由童謠的黑暗面，能讓近代的人們更了解歷史。近年來，也有不少作家在自己的作品中引用鵝媽媽童謠，讓許多人有了接觸鵝媽媽童謠的機會，也使它們更有被挖掘研究的價值。但其實一般保守的人對這方面童謠的接受度並不高，總是會有著「怎么會有這種童謠？」的想法，因此，我選了在一般出版的鵝媽媽童謠集時常被刪掉的幾首童謠做深入的介紹。也希望能藉此讓人更了解這類童謠並非只是用詞血腥，而是有著深層的含意。

這裡選了四首在一般出版的鵝媽媽童謠集時常被刪掉的幾首童謠做介紹，分別代表著「因果循環」「孤獨」「真實事件」與「精神失常」。

此首「誰殺了知更鳥」也有人翻做「知更鳥之死」，是鵝媽媽童謠中相當著名的一首，國外的鵝媽媽童謠集一般皆會收錄，但來到國內，國內出版的鵝媽媽童謠集幾乎不會收錄這首「Who killed led Cock Robin?」。此首歌鏇律輕快且優美，也是許多英國小孩朗朗上口的一首童謠。
「Who killed led Cock Robin?」內容描述知更鳥（Cock Robin）原本被天上所有的鳥兒喜愛，最後卻在小鳥審判（bird assizes）中死亡的故事。看似荒誕的童話故事，尤其是最後”下回的受審者”竟然是童謠一開始殺了知更鳥的麻雀，殺人者亦會受到審判，使得這首童謠更添加了因果循環的深層含意。
也有不少的推理小說或推理漫畫喜歡引用這首「Who killed led Cock Robin?」，如 S.S.范達因在 1928 年出版的著名推理小說“The Bishop Murder Case”（中譯為《主教殺人事件》）中即引用了這首與其餘兩首鵝媽媽童謠，漫畫《毒伯爵該隱》中，作者由貴香織里也引用了該童謠繪製了番外短篇。知名日本推理動畫《金田一少年之事件簿》中的《獄門塾殺人事件》也引用了這首詩。

此首童謠十個小黑人（Ten little nigger boys went out to dine）也是鵝媽媽童謠中非常著名的一首 內容看似相當荒唐 但也十分有趣 可是現在這首童謠的最後一句"He went and hanged himself,and then there were none.”可能因不適合兒童，所以時常改成”He got married,and then there were none.”（他結婚後一個也不剩）。
歌詞描述原有十個小黑人，經過了許多波折，使得原本在一起的他們最後只剩一個人，剩下的那個小黑人覺得非常寂寞，便上吊自殺了。這也可以喻為原本為勞工階級的一群人，在中產階級、資本主義殘酷的壓迫後，漸漸的凋零，到了最後一個也不留。
鵝媽媽童謠知名的推理小說家，擁有”謀殺天后”之稱的 Agatha?Christie(阿加莎.克里斯蒂），也 曾以這首童謠為背景寫出了〝And Then There Were None〞（中譯名為《無人生還》）此本小說。
著名的懸疑驚悚推理大作《WhenThey Cry》（又譯：《鳴泣之時》）
系列中的《海貓鳴泣之時》和《海貓鳴泣之時 散》中，作者龍騎士07從中獲取了靈感，寫下了整個劇情中占有巨大分量的《黃金碑文》

神主ZUN在東方project的第六作《東方紅魔郷》里，EX關與芙蘭朵露斯卡雷特的對話中也有用到，芙蘭朵露的符卡中也有【於是一個人都沒有了嗎】，還有一首正直者之死。
莉琪波登拿著斧頭

此首令人髮指的童謠「Lizzie Borden Took An Axe」，其實是由真實的故事改編而成的。
1892 年 8 月 4 日午前，瀑布河城銀行家安德魯波登（Andrew Borden）33 歲的女兒莉琪波登（Lizzie Borden,1860~1927）突然對自家女僕呼喊，驚叫自己的父親遭人用斧頭砍死在屋內；醫師、鄰居等人聞訊陸續趕到，眾人進一步發現莉琪的繼母也被利斧擊斃於二樓。儘管莉琪波登因為涉嫌重大而被逮捕，歷經一年多的偵訊審判，司法做出了無罪開釋的結論，引起輿論譁然。
案子審理期間法庭內外都有相當激烈的推理、辯論，有不少人直覺傳聞和繼母一直處得不好的莉琪有行兇動機，然而卻缺乏有力的犯案證據以及目擊證人；法庭上淑女形象的莉琪波登看起來無助而纖弱，贏得全以男性組成的陪審團（當時美國女性尚無參政權）同情，在一個多小時的討論之後，認定其人並非兇手。若不是莉琪殺了自己的父母，那兇手又是誰？對於這個案件的調查研究，一百多年來未曾間斷，各種耳語、謠傳更激發出無數文學藝術，甚至是紀念工藝品的創意；發生命案的房子，現在是瀑布河城能提供遊客用餐，甚至居住的知名旅遊景點。
不管真相如何，在充滿黑色趣味的鵝媽媽童謠渲染下（實際上兩位被害者總共僅被砍二十九下），大眾對莉琪波登的偏見更加根深蒂固，她的名字早已成了殘酷殺手的代名詞，多數相關的小說、電影作品，直接點名莉琪波登是兇手，並且在加油添醋的情節中，讓她受到報應。
但實際上被宣告無罪的波登和姐姐共同繼承父親遺產，賣掉凶宅，遠離瀑布河城的是非圈。波登後半輩子醉心於戲劇與文學，身後大筆財產捐贈予防止虐待動物協會（Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals）；愛護動物與兇殘殺手兩種截然不同的形象，讓莉琪波登的生平更增傳奇色彩。
一個扭曲的男人

此首童謠很明顯的描述一名精神失常的男子，他與他身邊的事物皆是「扭曲」的，歌詞描述的十分貼近現實精神疾病患者的模樣，以第三人稱的角度，來看待他的生活與身邊的事物，以「扭曲」代表與正常人生活相反的一面。
在黑暗的時代中，壓力過大以致於精神失常或發瘋的人不在少數，以現代來說，患有精神疾病的人其實也不少，他們的生活是「扭曲」的，在我們的眼裡看起來他們也是「扭曲」的一群人，所以用「crook」（扭曲）來連貫這整首歌詞是非常貼切的。
三隻瞎眼的老鼠

這首童謠後來被引用到偵探小說女王之稱的阿加莎·克里斯蒂的劇本，又譯為《捕鼠器》《The Mousetrap》是阿加莎·克里斯蒂最著名的舞台劇，從1952年11月25日開始，每晚上演連續50餘年、20000多場至今不衰，每晚都在創造新的世界紀錄。內容：時值二戰後百 廢待興的年代。新婚才一年的拉爾斯頓夫婦繼承了倫敦遠郊的蒙克 斯威爾莊園，並登報招攬房客入住。很快，有四位客人通過登報確認的方式預訂了房間。
冒著紛飛的大雪，房客們陸續抵達，有絮絮叨叨的、神經質的小伙子雷恩先生，難伺候的博伊爾太太，軍人氣概十足的梅特卡夫少校，以及中性氣質的凱思維爾小姐。
暴風雪導致了交通的癱瘓，眾人被困在了莊園裡。食物和炭火還夠不夠撐到雪過天晴？小夫妻倆不免擔心起來。一片忙亂中，不速之客接連到來——先是豪華汽車在大雪中拋錨、不得不跑來投宿的外國人巴拉維契尼先生，後是滑著雪橇、穿越被大雪阻斷的公路趕來的屈洛特警官。

這首童謠則被引用到阿加莎·克里斯蒂的另一部小說《黑麥奇案》（A Pocket Full of Rye），這個案件本身並沒有什麼特別，吸引人的獨到之處是它的天才般的殺人手法和意想不到的兇手。聽上去並沒什麼，但卻一不小心的驗證了紫杉小築發生的一系列慘案，而且樣樣吻合。百萬富翁雷克斯·佛特斯庫先生被毒死在自己的辦公室，他的口袋裡奇怪的放有黑麥；之後他年輕的妻子也被發現死在客廳里，死者身邊有一塊塗了蜂蜜，吃到一半的麵包；接下去是可憐的女僕，死後鼻子上還邪門的夾著一根曬衣夾子。而這一切的一切，似乎又都與二十年前的黑畫眉金礦有關……
