《逃獄三王》——滑稽劇情，嚴肅寓言
難得的一部精彩的電影。
看似是滑稽的逃獄歷險，作品中蘊含了許多對世態萬象的精闢剖析。涉及到了上帝與魔鬼，政客領導的邪教與卑鄙的聖經販賣者，對上帝的信仰與救贖，因果與報應。敘事結構環環相扣，形成一個個自成循環的故事結構。
《逃獄三王》電影劇照當最初三個罪犯搭乘火車道上盲眼老人的人力導軌車時，老人的對三人歷險的預言以及故事結束時再次出現老人的人力導軌車，我想盲眼老人其實是生活真理的化身。政客為了宣傳競選，無所不
用其極，侏儒，肥頭大耳的隨從，都跟小丑一樣，他們欺騙民眾的甜言蜜語反而不如三個法律上的罪犯的一點心聲《悲傷情歌》更深入人心。挖苦諷刺了政客齷齪的政治伎倆。影片中出現的政客領導的邪教與獨眼的罪惡的聖經販賣者，以及三人對於信仰上帝的不同看法，第三個罪犯最後為了自己心中的愛，為了在臨死前多看一眼自己的女兒向上帝祈禱請求救贖，都影射了世態萬象，信仰與背叛。
追憶鄉村，回歸純粹。
本片是一部既娛樂又深刻的好電影。並且沒有多少大場面，不需要大投資。科恩兄弟的這部電影手法與他們的另一部電影《老婦殺手組》的電影表現手法非常相似，都是在滑稽的劇情與環環相扣的故事情節中表達一些嚴肅深刻的生活哲理。
本片毫無疑問的沿襲了科恩兄弟的風格， 有經典的美式情節，人物類型，橋段，最大的新意就是與音樂的聯繫。《逃獄三王》這個片名怎么看都好象跟音樂拉不上一點關係，但出人意料的是音樂卻成了最大的亮點，據說原聲碟在格萊美上還獲獎了。所以本片更象是科恩兄弟在向美國鄉村音樂致敬。
幕後製作
影片由家喻戶曉的科恩兄弟導演，縱觀科恩兄弟的影片，純粹的美國味道是他們習慣的風格，犯罪、貪婪、欺詐是他們感興趣的話題，而喜劇則是他們擅長的表現手法。
執行製片人艾里克·費爾納同他的好友蒂姆·貝萬成立了一家名為"Working Title"的電影公司，像《諾丁山》《四次婚禮和一次葬禮》《豆子先生》《伊莉莎白》《法蘭西之吻》這些賣座的大片都是由這家名不見經傳的歐洲電影公司出品的。"Working Title"與科恩兄弟也有過幾次愉快的合作，包括《冰血暴》和1997年的《大人物拉伯斯基》。當然這次的《霹靂高手》也是"Working Title"與點石、環球公司聯合出品的。
在演員方面，科恩兄弟延續了他們的一貫做法：多請新手和曾經與他們合作過的演員。除了喬治·克魯尼這唯一的一顆"大星星"以外，像約翰·圖爾特羅（《巴頓芬克》）、約翰·古德曼（《巴頓芬克》《大人物拉伯斯基》）以及曾因《鋼琴課》奪得奧斯卡獎的霍莉·亨特等都是和科恩兄弟合作過多次的老朋友了。
