美國約翰·霍普金斯大學簡介
位於美國首都華盛頓的霍普金斯大學The Paul H. Nitze高等國際研究院（SAIS）享譽世界。在中國，和南京大學合作，設有中美文化研究中心和南大—霍大國際問題研究所
1873年，美國馬里蘭州巴爾的摩市銀行家、教友派教徒約翰 ·霍普金斯去世時，留下了一筆當時價值700萬美元的巨額遺產。遵照他的遺囑，其遺產分別捐贈給以他名字命名的大學和醫院。1875年，其財產託管人在巴爾的摩市中心的霍華德大街購買了第一塊地皮，以此作為未來的大學校園。1876年2月22日，正式創立約翰·霍普金斯大學。
約翰·霍普金斯大學的學術機構按地理分布可分為以下幾類：

美國約翰·霍普金斯大學大學系統：文理學院（建於1876年）、懷廷工程學院（建於1913年、重建於1979年）、進修學院（1909年）、醫學院（1893年）、衛生與公共保健學院（1916的）、護理學院（1889年，重建於1983年）、皮博迪音樂學校及其預備學校（前者建立於1857年，後者建立於1977年）。保健系統：約翰·霍普金斯醫院、弗朗西斯·斯科特·基醫療中心，霍姆伍德醫院中心、約翰·霍普金斯健康計畫，霍普金斯醫療優先網路。
