李保軍,1980年10月11日出生於河南省延津縣胙城鄉西辛莊村,1998年進入鄭州大學化學化工學院學習,2002年取得學士學位,2005年取得碩士學位,2009年取得博士學位,隨後到清華大學進行博士後研究,致力於納米催化、分子催化及先進材料研究。
