生平簡介
他於1994年被授予Jean Nicod Prize。德雷斯克在明尼蘇達大學(University of Minnesota)完成他的博士學位並且在威斯康星-麥迪遜辛大學(University of Wisconsin–Madison)任教若干年,之後他去了史丹福大學。從史丹福大學退休之後，他來到了杜克大學，他是杜克大學哲學系研究教授。
德雷斯克在心靈哲學上是外在主義者，並且因此他在若干著作中試圖表明僅僅通過內省(introspection)一個人可以知道他自己的心靈。
