人物經歷
孫革1988-1989年在英國大英博物館（自然史部）完成博士後研究。
1995-2000年任中國科學院南京地質古生物所副所長，並歷任中國古生物學會秘書長（1997-2001）、國際古植物學會副主席（2000-2004）等。
2011年又率課題組首次發現迄今最早的真雙子葉植物“李氏果”；上述成果有力地推動了中國及全球被子植物起源及早期演化研究。
社會兼職主要有：中德合作新疆地質工作站中方主任，中國科學院生物多樣性重點實驗室學術委員會委員，中國古生物化石保護基金會專家委員會委員，遼寧省化石鑑定委員會委員等。
從事地質古生物學研究近40年,為全球早期被子植物研究做出突出貢獻。他率領課題組首次發現迄今最早的被子植物“遼寧古果”和“中華古果”，確認“古果屬”是水生草本植物，並提出“被子植物起源的東亞中心”假說。
