作者簡介
查爾斯·米歇爾,畢業於美國賓夕法尼亞大學,現為總部在紐約的專門研究全球經濟預測與管理問題的研究機構——會議董事局出版主任。這個組織是一個非贏利性的經濟和商業研究機構。
米歇爾一生的大部分時光是駐外,工作和生活閱歷十分豐富,親眼目睹和經歷了許多國家的商業、社會和政治的變化。作者的早期職業是南非約翰內斯堡《蘭德每日郵報》的一名記者,後來成為美聯社國際分社(UPI)駐南非的新聞記者,成功地報導了安哥拉和莫三比克等國的戰爭和獨立。之後,他升任為美聯社莫斯科分社的新聞部主任。
