《跨文化交際中的人際關係管理》一書從“禮貌理論”為出發點,提出了一個分析言語交際中關係管理的理論框架,並套用相關學科的研究成果,採用跨學科的視角,對言語行為中的關係管理問題進行了文化對比研究,對跨文化交際中的言語行為進行了語篇分析。全書在理論探討、實證研究和研究方法三個層面上探討了如何使用語言來促進、維護或威脅和諧的社會關係這一主題。本書主編Helen Spencer-Oatey 博士是關係管理理論研究和文化對交際影響研究的著名專家,目前在英國盧頓大學擔任跨文化交際碩士項目的課程主管和英格蘭高教撥款委員會e-China 的項目經理。
