While I was reading paragraph 23,I found that the author want to tell readers the suitable showing off is allowed, from time to time, At first, I read the word “shamelessly”, I think the word could point out the exulting ’s prerequisite, The author use a lot of metaphor in this paragraph, for example, “taking a bow”, “walk off the stage”, “clap and cheer”, the method used by the author is very suitable. It make the logical things. concrete and easy to be understood.
I was puzzled by the word “Addicted”, so I looked it up in the dictionary, found the meaning is something in our life that we can not live on without it. In my opinion, the author uses the word “crave praise” could describe the reason of exulting.
When I finished to read this paragraph, I could understood the author’s opinion, if you have two conditions, you are allowed, from time to time, to exult. The first condition is that you must know when to quit. The second condition is that you must have good mood.
