    約翰尼·史密斯在小鎮中過著平凡的生活。作為自然科學教師，他喜歡向學生們展示大自然的奧秘。與他共同生活的，除了他深愛的未婚妻薩拉之外，還有他那以兒子為榮的孀居母親。約翰尼擁有著幾乎完美的生活，直至某天他發生車禍，一直昏迷不醒。
