In the Paragraph 12, the author indicates another type of show offs. He thinks that they are sympathetic type as they don’t feel safe. They want to show off to tell others they are good. I thought[think] they live too tied. They also need to think out many ways or techniques to communication and boast. Communication can’t create truth about the teller. If we really want to know someone, they could keep in touch with others within a long period.
The next paragraph is a little difficult to understand. It feels abstract in the whole meaning. When I read this paragraph first time, I found the first two sentences have a close relationship between their meanings. Sometimes the showoffs don’t have some entitles which other people have. But there are no examples about those entitles in my mind. I appreciate their brave. Even they may don’t have some entitles, they ask for cheers. Even it is difficult to achieve others’ agreements, and[but] they try their best to seek for them. The last sentence describes a impressive phenomenon. I refer the word “folks” to “farmers”. Actually, it means “people”. Whether it means “farmers” or “ordinarily people”, if someone never shows off about his or her great accomplishments, it’s impressive and remarkable.
In the fifteenth paragraph, the “mother of four” can raise many questions. But through the whole paragraph, the common sense is “four” stands for “four children”. In my opinion, the mother in the author’s story is worth being admired. It’s a good example to certify the extraordinary thing. In China, the Members of state senate are as same as the members of province governing body. So in China, when one is elected to the province governing body, he or she is known for that. He or she could become famous over night. Maybe they don’t mean to do that. But this woman is so self-control that even her intimate friends didn't[don't]know that. I think the problem is not the differences between the Eastern and Western culture. It is different for the showoffs to control themselves. And self-restraint is maybe [maybe self-restraint is] one of entitles which the showoffs don’t have.
