著名流行組合“西城男孩”（Westlife）通過他們的官網發布聲明，稱他們即將在2012年告別樂壇。在2012年五月份，西城男孩將在英國地區連續舉辦九場告別演唱會。
在聲明中，西城男孩組合寫到：“我們在一起合作了14年，有26首單曲入圍排行榜前十名，其中有14首獲得冠軍，11張專輯進入排行榜前五名，其中7張獲得冠軍，全球唱片銷量超過4400萬張，舉行過10次座無虛席的巡迴演出，我們一起有過很多將會永遠懷念的記憶。今天，我們要宣布我們分道揚鑣的訊息，今年聖誕節前我們會推出一張精選專輯，而在明年會舉行一次告別的巡迴演出。”
