《Relapse》封面《We Made You》副歌中的女聲來自Charmagne Tripp。歌曲的製作人最初只有德瑞醫生，之後埃米納姆和多可·艾什也加入了製作，馬克·巴特森擔任了鍵盤手。歌曲採樣自搖滾歌手沃爾特·伊根的《Hot Summer Nights》。
歌曲對艾米·懷恩豪斯進行了嘲諷，埃米納姆原本想找艾米·懷恩豪斯合作專輯《Relapse》中的首支單曲，不過遭到艾米·懷恩豪斯的拒絕，《太陽報》指出艾米一開始聽到埃米納姆的邀約感到十分興奮，最後卻以“時機不對”謝絕埃米納姆，於是她被寫進了歌。

《We Made You》繼承了埃米納姆專輯主打曲的傳統，埃米納姆在這首歌中再次發揮他的“毒舌”功力。和《The Real Slim Shady》、《Without Me》一樣，這首歌是一首詼諧的惡搞作品，歌詞以諷刺各個大眾明星為主，而這次他的目標則是那些經常上八卦雜誌封面的好萊塢名人們。
