McCammonplayedfourgamesforCambridge Unitedonanon-contractbasisbetweenAugust1997andMarch1999.HesignedforCharlton Athleticon9March1999andplayedwiththemuntilJuly2000.HehadaloanspellatSwindon Townbetween2January2000and7February2000whilewithCharlton.McCammonsignedforBrentfordon14July2000.Hetotalled15goalsin80gamesfortheBeesbeforeleavingin2003.
McCammonjoinedMillwallon27March2003andmade23appearancesfortheclub,scoringtwogoals.However,histimeinBermondseyisasnotableforanincidentwithMoses AshikodiinwhichMcCammonwasreportedlythreatenedwithaknife.Nevertheless,hemadeasubstituteappearanceinthe2004FA CupFinalasMillwallwentdown0–3toManchesterUnited,comingonforNeilHarrisinthe75thminute.HewasloanedtoBrighton&HoveAlbionon15December2004andsignedapermanentdealwiththeSeagullson3February2005.HeplayedwithBristolCity,inanotherloandeal,whilewithBrighton.
McCammonmovedtoDoncasterRoverson3August2006.Heworeshirtnumber9fortheRovers,andscoredhisfirsttwogoalsofthe2006–07seasonintheFootballLeagueCupgameagainstRochdaleon22August2006.HehasthehonourofbeingthefirstplayertoscoreattheKeepmoatStadium,thenewhomeofDoncasterRovers,scoringafternineminutesinthe3–0winoverHuddersfieldTownonNewYear'sDay,2007.
McCammon'stallyofgoalsforthe2006–07seasoncouldhavebeen6insteadof5afterhewasinvolvedinabizarremomentintheFACupfirstroundbetweenBrentfordandDoncasteratGriffinParkonthe11November2006.HisheaderappearedtohavebeatentheBrentfordgoalkeeperbutgonewideofthepostonfirstlook,howeveroncloserinspectionofreplaysitappearsthestriker'sattemptwentthroughaholeinthenetbutnogoalwasgiven(thiswouldhavemadethescore2–0atthetime).Doncasterdidholdontowinthegame1–0soultimatelyitdidnotaffecttheresult.
HejoinedGillinghaminJuly2008onathree-yearcontract.[2]HemadehisGillinghamdebutawaytoBournemouthon9August2008andscoredhisfirstgoalina3–0homewinoverGrimsbyTownon6September2008.On26February2010,hejoinedBradfordCityonaone-monthloandeal,[3]andmadehisdebutthenextdayinthe1–0homewinoverbottomoftheleagueDarlington.SincehisreturntoPriestfieldhehasfeaturedinjust6leagueandcupmatches,andhasn'tfoundthenetsinceApril2009,ina1-0winatChesterfield.
