1982年畢業與原石家莊鐵道兵工程學院數學力學師資班(由鐵道建築系兩年後轉);
1987年西南交通大學工程力學系碩士畢業;
1991年-1994年美國密蘇里Rolla大學進修訪問;
1999年西南交通大學牽引動力國家重點實驗室博士畢業;
先後主持、主研和參加了國家自然科學基金重點、面上項目、科技部項目、省部級項目、橫向課題四十多項,發表和合作發表論文160多篇,合作出版著作3部:《固體接觸力學》(鐵道出版社出版,1999)、《輪軌摩擦學》(鐵道出版社出版,2004)和《輪軌蠕滑理論及其試驗研究》(西南交通大學出版社出版,2006)。
