《大學英語(修訂本)聽力(第3冊教師用書)》根據《課程要求》和當前學生的英語聽說水平，本教程第一冊至第四冊的再修訂工作圍繞以下幾個方面進行：1.宗旨：1）幫助學生掌握必要的聽力技能；2）進一步提高學生在語篇水平上的聽力理解能力；3）幫助學生掌握多種交際功能，培養學生口頭表達的能力；4）逐步培養學生單句和成段說話的能力。2.話題：保留原來一至四冊約70%的話題，另外約30%則為新增貼近時代的話題。3.選文：力求課文語言流暢、地道和規範；內容具有趣味性和時代氣息。保留部分使用效果較好的篇目，其餘70%左右的課文均為新選材料。4.說的訓練：組織學生圍繞課文內容進行問答，提供表達各種交際功能的日常口語以及樣板對話，設定各種情景，多方為學生提供口語活動的機會，以提高他們的實質性的口語能力（即能言之有物）。5.錄音語速：為保證達到《課程要求》對學生提出的聽力要求，教程的選文以正常語速錄音。
