2006年 麥叔暫停學業並全心投入音樂事業，成為一個全職音樂人。
2007年 發行了同名EP“Hightide Blues”
2008年 在David Briggs於納什維爾某舊寄宿學校改造成的錄音室“the House of David”里製作並發行了唱片“Love Come Easy”
專輯收錄"Dreamin' Alone" ，"Let it Roll"，"Dancing with the Angels (Meg's Song)"（此歌寫于樂隊成員最好的朋友Meg Ingram的葬禮前夜，其21歲身患癌症而離世。）
樂隊每年都會在亨茨維爾進行the Meg Ingram Memorial Scholarship benefit concert演出。
樂隊在網路上也取得了一定的成功，並在OurStageCom贏得多項獎項。包括over fifteen Top 10 placements，reaching number 2 on Best of Pop for 2011。
2007-2010，樂隊在全國巡演，合作藝人包括Zac Brown Band，Sarah Barellis，JJ Grey&Mofro。

麥叔和樂隊成員搬到了納什維爾，並且發起了一個讓歌迷為樂隊選新名字的活動，樂隊的第一張專輯便以新樂隊命名，“The Grand Magnolias”，並在2011年發行。裡面的歌由麥叔和Jonathan Pears創作，Dan Hannon和Ken Coomer製作。
麥叔參加美偶後專輯銷量大增，據2011年3月9日的統計，已經超過3千，並在Billboard Heatseekers chart上升到16名。但是之後iTunes Store決定不再繼續發布專輯，促使銷量戲劇性遞減，雖然在亞馬遜和麥叔官網還能買到專輯。

之後通過原創歌曲“American Dreams”晉級TOP24。
通過麥叔的推特，更多人知道了The Grand Magnolias，專輯銷量猛升到iTunes Rock Albums chart的第三位，總成績位於第43位。
麥叔談到自己會參加美偶，是因為朋友的女友強烈要求：“get your lazy muscian bum out of bed and walk five minutes down the street。”然後麥叔8小時後現身美偶海選，開玩笑一樣隨便唱了下《tutti fruiti》，然後納什維爾的麥叔就變成了美偶的麥叔了。

現狀
麥叔於台北時間2011年4月15日結束第十季美偶賽程，終獲第八。演唱jennifer lopez親點離場曲目《Maggie May》，灑脫謝幕。
私生活麥叔在2011年3月7日《Red Riding Hood》電影首映式上與《暮光之城》女演員Nikki Reed相識，而後相戀，二人已於2011年5月底6月初訂婚，現居洛杉磯。並於2011年10月16日在malibu海灘舉行婚禮。
