Showing off (12—16)

From these paragraphs, we can get that the author are more admiring of the people who do not show off about it.

First, finding that the author likes to use many adverbs and past--time words to wreak [express] her mood, for example, “basically”, “intimately”, “entitled” and so on. It is a good way to follow.

For me, I always don’t know how to explain my emotion deeply. Maybe it is a chance.

Second, she puts the word “insecure” in the front of the sentence “showoffs show off because, as one close friend explained.” In my opinion, it is an emphasis. And why the author quotes her friend’s sentence? deng sir and we had discussed in the class, because she wants to her suggestion more convincible.

Third, there is a strange sentence “sometimes showoffs ask for cheers to which they are not entitled.” It puzzled us. After looking over some grammar book, it is just an adjective clause.

The paragraph fourteen is very short. What does the author want to do? What is the function? One of the students gave the answer, that summating [summarizing] then introducing.

From that, I guess [guessed] the author may be a showoff. She uses a lot of techniques.
