長期從事力學以及力學在機械工程、土木工程和材料科學中的基礎套用研究,現任法國巴黎東部大學 一級教授、法國國家科學研究中心(CNRS)力學 實驗室主任,領導一個由5位正教授、11位副教授和助理教授、26位博士研究生和博士後研究人員所組成的研究團隊。現擔任國際知名研究機構法國原子能委員會(CEA)和世界500強企業法國電力公司(EDF)、阿海琺公司(AREVA)的 科技顧問。近年來,先後主持包括 歐洲重大研究項目(COST 314)在內的科研項目近20項,累計科研經費近三百萬歐元;作為博士生導師,現已培養畢業13名博士,8名博士已成為歐洲高校或國際知名企業 (如EDF, Lafarge, Arcelor Mittal)的教授或科研骨幹。本人於2000年、2004年和2008年連續三次獲得四年一屆的 法國高等教育與研究部優秀研究人員和 博士 導師獎

所獲得的科技創新成果涉及接觸力學、摩擦學、損傷力學、連續介質力學、複合材料力學、細觀力學、納米材料力學、生物力學、水泥基材料、玻璃結構工程和核廢料處理等領域,累計發表SCI收錄論文60餘篇,其中絕大多數論文都發表在國際相關領域重要刊物,如在Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids(44種力學國際期刊中影響因子排名第3位)發表5篇、在International Journal of Solids and Structures(同上,排名第11位)發表7篇。所取的多項源創新成果得到了國際同行的公認並被多篇權威專著引用或正面評述,為豐富和發展套用力學作出了重要貢獻。例如,首次獲得了板孔和入孔針之間的單邊協調接觸問題的解析解,國際固體與結構學報主編、牛津大學D.A. Hills教授認為該結果解決了困擾接觸力學領域四十多年來一個難題;第一次建立了兩個大變形固體的單邊接觸方程並且證明了其解的存在性,對此原創性成果,國際著名力學專家P. D. Panagiotopoulos教授在美國數學學會的“Mathematical Reviews”進行了重點介紹; 建立了一個接觸運動與摩擦模型,該成果被國際著名的Springer出版社出版、P. Wriggers教授所著的«Computational Contact Mechanics»權威專著用長達兩頁面進行大篇幅介紹。

所掌握的核心技術已成功套用於解決工業中一些重要實際問題。比如,通過與法國原子能委員會(CEA)、法國電力公司(EDF)合作,建立了一個有效的多尺度模擬混泥土材料化學-力學耦合特性的方法並解決了核廢料處理中混泥土結構耐久性難題;與法國建築科技中心 (CSTB) 的合作,為解決鋼化玻璃結構中摩擦盤連線和針載連線的關鍵問題,提出和發展了一個試驗和數值相結合的系統方法,為創建歐盟玻璃結構規範作出了重要貢獻。曾應邀國際固體力學著名刊物 Mechanics of Materials 專輯的客座主編,領導召開多次國際學術會議,長期擔任多個西方國家的自然科學基金評審專家、眾多本領域國際一流學術期刊的定期特邀評審、Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica等國際期刊編委。
