中國音協吉它學會自成立以來，廣泛團結全國各地區吉它組織、演奏家、學者及愛好者，開展了一系列的大型吉它文化活動。每年開展的固定文化項目有：中國吉它文化節；全國師資培訓大師班；全國吉它邀請賽；中外吉它名家音樂會；會員聯誼會；高級演奏家培訓等。
現況
目前，中國吉它學會在全國擁有近千名吉它專業教師和3000餘名會員。為規範全國吉它培訓市場，提高吉它各個專業教師綜合素質，中國吉它學會每年組織專家在全國範圍開展有針對性地講座和專業教師的審核工作。
