Today,I read the passage from 19 to 22,which cost(spend) me a lot of time.At first, the word “bragging” puzzled me.I want to understand the meaning of the word ,so I look it up in LONGMAN.In dictonary,it says “brag”means “to talk too proudly about what you have done, what you own etc - used to show disapproval” , and it has the same meaning as “boast”.Follow by “but”,there are three words “golden”, “glowing” and “glorious”.The author use(uses) three “G” to emphsize the things had happened in his life.In the last sentence of passage19,there is a word “permissible”.From this sentence, “permissible”means “allowed by law or by the rules”.
?
I turn to the passage20,there is only one sentence, which is very long and hard to analyze it.I feel a little bit diffcult.I read it again carefully, before the comma, “exulting” is subject, all the other is(are)used to describe it.Then I get the trunk of the sentence and well understand the meaning.Passage 21 and 22 is (are)easier than 19and20.There is no obstacle to make me stop.
