Writing for the section 2
Today I read the second section of the article. These 5 paragraphs bring( brought) me much (more)new knowledge.
In paragraph 6, there is a phrase “look forward to”, and after it, the author used “increasing”, from that, I know (knew), the word “to” after “forward” is a preposition, and after this “to” you should use noun or gerund.
The beginning of the 7th paragraph, I sawthe phrase “in study after study”, at that time, I can’t understand it exactly, then I asked my classmate, she told me, the meaning of “in study after study” is that the conclusion is shown by several times research.
The last sentence of the paragraph 8:” severe poverty is depressing if it destroys people’s sense of control over their life.” At the beginning, I am( was)puzzled by the “it” next to “if”, I don’t know what this “it” represented. By read this paragraph several times, I know( knew), this “it” represented severe poverty.
