龍志和教授湖南安化人，1954年7月20日出生於北京，當過兵，當過電焊工。恢復高考後，1978年考入西南交通大學。1982年畢業留校任教， 2001年調入華南理工大學。現為華南理工大學工商管理學院經濟學教授、博士生導師，享受國務院政府特殊津貼專家，兼職中華外國經濟學研究會理事、廣東省經濟學會常務理事。
治學嚴謹，教學效果顯著，深受學生歡迎。十多年來，先後為博士研究生，碩士研究生、MBA、本科生，專科生，各類成人教育等多層次學生開設《當代經濟學說》、《高級總量經濟學》、《經濟學前沿研究》、《中國社會主義經濟理論》、《總量經濟學》，《個體經濟學》，《管理經濟學》，《組織行為學》，《企業管理理論》等多門課程，獲多項優秀教學獎勵。自1991年以來，龍志和教授在《管理工程》、《技術經濟學》、《產業經濟學》碩士點指導碩士研究生二十三名，已畢業十九名。
