簡介
1982年1月在華中科技大學獲理學學士；1987年3月在日本岩手大學工學部獲工學碩士學位；
1990年3月在日本東北大學金屬研究所獲工學博士學位。
1993年10月~1994年9月以博士後的身份赴日本通產省北海道工業技術研究所工作。
1994年10月~1999年9月在日本岩手大學任副教授；
1999年10月~2000年3月在日本岩手大學任教授；
1999年12月至今在北京大學任教授。
2000年被聘為華中科技大學兼職教授。
2002年獲日本材料技術研究協會外國人特別獎。
研究領域和興趣
1. 微米/納米材料：微米/納米材料的合成與性能，粉體科學與技術，電漿合成和材料加工；2. 能源材料：氫氣與材料的作用，氫氣的吸附、儲存和氫能源利用，鎳氫電池和鋰離子電池電極材料；
3. 其它：磁性材料，磁加工和檢測技術，稀土功能特性。
