擬聲法(onomatopoeia) 它是指用詞語模擬客觀事物的聲音,以增強講話或文字的實際音感。Onomatopoeia(擬聲法)--Using "sound" words. "Bang!" "Crunch"。例如:
1、 模擬人聲
murmur (咕噥), whisper (耳語聲), giggle (咯咯笑聲), hum (哼), ouch (哎呀), hush (噓), chuckle (抿著嘴輕聲地笑), mutter (輕聲低語), en (嗯), hi (餵), chatter (嘮叨), whoop (喘氣聲), babble (胡言亂語, 含糊不清地說)
2、 模擬家禽與飛鳥聲
cock---crow, hen—cackle, chicken---cheep, duck---quack, goose---cackle, dove---coo, magpie---chatter, parrot---squawk, nightingale---jug.
3、 模擬獸類聲
ass---bray, pig---grunt, sheep---baa, horse---neigh, lion---roar, cow---moo, dog---bark, fox---yelp, monkey---jabber, mouse---peep, tiger---growl, cat---mew, elephant---trumpet, wolf---bowl
4、 模擬昆蟲及其他動物聲音
bee---buzz, mosquito---hum, cicada---chirp, snake---hiss, cricket---chirp, frog---croak
5、 模擬機器、器具聲音
click 喀嚓 (剪刀, 門, 按鈕), clack 鏗鏘 (刀叉, 碗碟, 機器), clink 叮叮 (金屬, 玻璃),
clank 叮噹 (鐵鏈, 刀槍), clang 發出鏗鏘聲 (叮噹聲), rumble 轟隆聲 (雷, 風, 炮, 車),
toot 嘟嘟 (火車, 汽車, 輪船), ticktack 嘀嗒 (鐘錶)
