內容簡介

大學物理簡明教程?力學?熱學(英文版)(第1冊)》的編寫是編者主持的“試用英文物理教材”教改試點工作的繼續,也是編者大學物理教學經驗的總結。從國外引進的教材,雖有諸多優點,但在系統上與我國的大學物理教學基本要求不完全對應,為了滿足師生對英文物理教材的需要,編寫一套根據我國工科物理教學基本要求,順應工科物理教學改革的形勢,反映編者在多年物理教學實踐中總結出來的教學方法與經驗,與我們的學生在一、二年級的英文水平相適應的英文“簡明物理學教程”的計畫就提到日程上來了,這就是我組織編寫這套教材的初衷。這套英文物理教材是1996年經國家教委批准列入正式出版計畫的。本教材可供普通高等工科院校本科生物理課130~140學時使用。編者力求突出以下特點:
①基本理論講述方法簡明、準確、易學易教。
②為使學生讀後達到基本訓練的要求,配備了適量的例題、思考題和習題。除自編的題目及我校物理教研室常用的題目外還吸收了一部分英文教材中的優秀題目。
③每冊最後編入一個閱讀材料,選自優秀的英文原版教材供學生自學,內容力求反映物理學的新發展。不另編寫緒論,用第一冊的閱讀材料“物理學是什麼”代之。
④除物理學名詞外.絕大多數英文辭彙包含在大學英語四級詞表內,全部辭彙幾乎都在英語六級詞表內。通過三冊書的教學,不但能達到教學基本要求,而且學生直接使用英文基礎課教材及專業課教材學習的能力將大大提高。
⑤在第三冊的部分插圖中使用了編者在教學、科研中積累的素材。
