內容簡介
《外國文學經典·霧都孤兒》講述棄嬰奧利弗從小在孤兒院長大。九歲時被送給棺材店老闆做學徒。他不堪忍受飢餓和侮辱,逃到倫敦,不慎落人賊窩,被迫當了扒手。後被富有的布朗洛先生收留,然而不幸被小扒手發現,又入賊窩。善良的女扒手南希為了營救奧利弗,不顧賊頭的監視和威脅,告訴布朗洛先生奧利弗就是他尋找已久的外孫,結果慘遭賊窩頭目殺害。警察隨即圍剿了賊窩,奧利弗終於得以與親人團聚。
