求學

行為

在取捨因果方面更是謹慎入微,從不享用亡財,所有的亡財全部讓僧眾念經超度亡靈或建造佛塔等作回向。信財中也只是以少許來充腹蔽體,其餘都用於上供下施及作其它佛事。甚至對於飽經滄桑、恩重如山的年邁老母也只給過兩袋青稞並要求母親作許多小泥塔。除此之外,從未將信財贈送給官員、親眷等。終生過著知足少欲的簡樸生活。他不僅以阿底峽尊者的教言"必須細微取捨因果,萬萬不可肆意妄為,否則將感受難以想像的果報"來嚴格要求自己,而且也如是教誡弟子。一次,他對眾弟子說:"我依止上師言教奉行,身上從未帶過較多錢財。老父我過世後,你們也要如理如法行持!"

一次尊者閉關修金剛橛一百天。出關後,有些弟子問:"上師,聽說你老人家己面見本尊了。"上師說:"你們不要道聽途說,世人沒有什麼可信賴的。不過,這次閉關期間,從夢境、淨現來看,的確獲得了些許成就,所有的本尊中金剛橛是最殊勝的。現在,我立刻給你們灌頂,希望精進誦修金剛橛,依此可遣除一切違緣障礙。"

喜靜

尊者從小就由衷嚮往無有憒鬧的寂靜聖地,一生中從未摻雜世間八法為人宣說佛法,始終樂於安住寂靜之處聞思修行。

一次外出求學回來時,金剛上師鄔金丹增洛諾對他說:"你以後不要任寺廟住持,不要廣攝眷屬,不要享用信財亡財,不要離開寂靜聖處。"他依教奉行。在四十五歲時於當地建造一處閉關關房,觀修所有本尊、誦持心咒,精進修行生圓次第及大圓滿。而且每月初十、二十五空行節日時不間斷會供,每月初八藥師佛節日誦藥師經。如同金州大師一樣其極熱衷於燈供、花供。每晚堅持作大禮拜,一有空閒便念誦百字明,供修蔓茶羅等,心不外散、穩如山王。他經常教誡弟子說:"內心雜念紛紛,修法不成;經常與人交往,增上貪嗔。"

六十五歲時又在卡剛靜處建一閉關房。於此閉關久至七年。期間,遠離一切散亂,夜以繼日地專修加行至正行法門,自始至終毫不鬆懈。無論任何高官要員一律不予接見,謝絕一切來訪客人,也未因任何瑣事外出過。與此同時也常告誡眾弟子:"從古至今,依止靜處的修行者從未出現過餓死凍死的現象。我自己也是追循前輩諸高僧大德的足跡一心安住於寂靜處。希望你們不要到處亂跑,閉關不應只是口頭上的漂亮言詞而應落實到行動上。"尊者真正為如今我們這些修行人樹立了榜樣。

現在的有些人口口聲聲說是要閉關,費了九牛二虎之力修了一間閉關房,一切就緒之後,在門外扣上一把大鎖護關,自己跑到喧囂的城市滾滾的紅塵中去搞世間八法。真不知道房中誰在閉關,也許是他發心為小老鼠修建了一所閉關房吧。

入滅

八十二歲時,尊者示現生病。弟子們請求他長久住世時,他說:"功德圓滿的佛陀也趨入涅槃,難道在這個世界上有生而不死的嗎?"在患病期間,眼前所現均是大圓滿任運自成的成就證象。之後將所有的財產全部上供下施,並囑咐弟子:"我死後不留任何財產,你們也不必為我念經作佛事。"

接近八十三歲時再次身染重病並且在人來人往時大聲叫喊,他問身邊的弟子阿索喇嘛:"我這聲音外面的人能否聽得見?"弟子說:"聽得一清二楚,上師啊,您老人家忍著點吧!""聽見了很好,應該讓大家聽見。"在無人往來時上師卻平靜安詳而住。一日,上師以獅子臥式入定良久。旁邊的許多弟子都認為上師已圓寂了,驚恐萬分。上師出定後說:"我的意識在銅色吉祥山,現在你們把我的身體捆綁起來擱置一旁。眾弟子面面相覷,誰也不敢上前。上師顯得很不高興,呵責了他們。弟子們只好遵命。之後上師說:"現在可以了,你們給我供茶吧。"喝茶時,上師凝視著杯中的茶水,面帶微笑地說:"這哪裡是茶呀,這都是光明自然法界。"

一九四五年(木猴年)十二月初(藥師佛節日),朝陽從地平線上冉冉升起之時,他對一旁的阿索喇嘛說道:"你不要坐在這裡,蓮花生大士來了。"阿索不敢再呆,便到一邊偷偷地看,只見上師滿面笑容地對著他那幅珍藏的金剛橛唐卡注視了很久很久……。然後以獅臥式神態安然地圓寂了。此時,室外晴空萬里,雖然正值寒冬臘月,天氣卻異常地暖和,虛空中到處呈現彩虹、明點等圓滿成就之徵象。後來,眾弟子為上師建造靈塔以作人間供養之處。

儘管尊者的色身已趨入了法界,但他為佛教所培養的高僧大德不斷將其弘法利生之事業發揚光大。他為後代所撰的論著及其美名必將流芳百世。
