國內分布：產江西（井岡山）、湖南（江華、宜章）、廣東（羅浮山、乳源、高要）、廣西（大苗山、大瑤山、臨桂、永福、元寶山、靖西、平南、大明山、興安）和貴州（榕江、雷山、凱里）。海拔：600-1500

形態特徵
灌木或稀小喬木，高達10米；小枝圓柱形，無毛，具明顯縱條棱，乾時黃綠色，老枝紫褐色。葉厚革質，橢圓形或倒卵狀長圓形，長6-13厘米，寬3-5厘米，先端急尖或短急尖；基部鈍或寬楔形，邊緣除近基部外具圓齒狀齒，齒端有硬腺點，上面黃綠色，下面淡綠色，兩面無毛，而具疏或密腺體；中脈寬達1毫米，上面微凹，下面明顯突起，側脈5-6對，弧狀上彎，網狀脈明顯；葉柄極粗壯，長1.5-2.5厘米，上面具小槽溝，無毛。總狀花序腋生，或稀兼頂生，單生，長達15厘米，具多數花；花序軸及花梗被短柔毛，花2，稀1，或3個簇生；花梗長2.5-4毫米，開展或在花後下垂，基部有線狀鑽形苞片，苞片長約1毫米；萼筒淺杯狀，黃綠色，被微柔毛；萼片三角狀披針形，長2毫米；花瓣白色，直立，頂端漸尖，邊緣及內面被疏微柔毛；雄蕊明顯伸出花瓣，長4毫米；花絲細，長3.5-4毫米，基部被微柔毛；花葯橢圓狀球形；子房上位，被短柔毛。蒴果錐形，長7毫米，被疏柔毛，成熟時兩裂，裂片頂端極反折。形態特徵英文翻譯
