劇情簡介
艾克是紐約時報的專欄記者，他因為經歷過破裂的婚姻，因此對女人有點感冒而顯得尖酸刻薄，而他經常為了截稿時間焦頭爛額，更讓他沮喪的是他的頂頭上司就是他的前妻。
為了逃避壓力，他只好躲進他常去的酒吧里，當他聽到有人討論馬里蘭州的一個鄉下地方，有個年輕女人瑪琪，她曾經有三次和準新郎踏上紅地毯的另一端時，又因為婚姻恐懼症而逃婚的記錄。這立刻引起艾克興趣，決定將這個話題寫成專欄，並加以冷嘲熱諷了一番。之後他想要印證自己的報導正確無誤，於是決定親自拜訪這個小鎮，沒想到小鎮居民卻對他的報導大表反感，而正準備與第四任男友步入結婚禮堂的瑪琪，更因為這篇報導大感難堪，於是又再度逃婚，並且決定以其人之道還治其人之身，對艾克展開報復行動。雙方就在你來我往的情況下，有了更深刻的了解並慢慢互相吸引，但是他們要如何化解前嫌，並且克服各自的心理障礙？
