Today I should to[delete to]read paragraph9-17. It is so long, I should spend much to read[time on reading] it.
First, let me read paragraph9. In this paragraph, the word 'precaution' is interesting for me. Here the word is meaning 'an action which is done to prevent something unpleasant or dangerous happening'. Here cheating is something which we should precaution. But in the paragraph, we know precaution can't serve a function.
Turning to paragraph10, this paragraph is very short, only a question. The question is author ask [asks] why students will cheat. Because it is human nature or parents and teachers encourage it. If we want to know the answer, we should read [the] next paragraphs.
In paragraph11, I know why students will cheat. In this paragraph, a child cheats in a game. His mother doesn't blame him. Because the mother doesn't think this method is wrong. They maybe will concern if the child wasn't studying, but not if the child cheat in the exam. They think cheat is too common for people, especially they are people; even they think cheat is human nature.
In paragraph12 we know not only parents even [but also] the people who is [are] the most outspoken opponents of cheating are less critical of youngsters who cheat. He thinks young people must be allowed to make mistakes, after all they are young. And who not [don't] make mistakes at all times. The answer is impossible. And in this paragraph, the word outspoken is interesting for me. From the literal I think is maybe have the same meaning with 'frank, candid'. But I am unsure. Then with the dictionary[then i look it up in dictionary], I know it is meaning [means] 'expressing strong opinions very directly without worrying if other people are offended.'Form read those two paragraph[paragraphs], I had own [have my own] opinion. I think cheat [cheating] maybe is human nature, but parents and teachers shouldn't encourage the method. If the students cheating [cheat] in exam, we can't only critical them, after all they are young. So we should educate them cheat [cheating] can't solve problems. The best method to solve the problems is let student know learned [that learning] something is important. So open-book is a good idea to precaution cheat[cheating]. This method fosters conceptual thinking and makes crib sheets and peeking useless.
In last two paragraphs, I know the teachers and child psychologists say that the only way to stop students from cheating in college is to keep them from developing the habit in high school. In modern times, parent's stress is overweight in family. So it becomes elusive goal.
