用法與意義
1.will的過去式。
例:They said it would be fine.聽說天氣會很好。(it will be fine的過去式)
例:I said I would do my best. 我表示過要盡最大的努力。
2.(在陳述語氣中,表示過去將來時,表示無意識的行動或單純將來發生的事或動作,指實際情況,一般用於間接引語中)會;將;
例:he said he would not be free that night. 他說他那天晚上沒有空。
3.(表示過去經常性或習慣性的動作)總會;總是;
例:sometimes I would come home late. 有時我總是遲回家。
4. 老是。(對總發生的事情,或一向的行為表示“不耐煩”的情緒。)
例:That's exactly like Jocelyn—she would lose the key! 賈詩琳總是那樣,老把鑰匙弄丟!
5.(用於指過去的否定句中,表示拒絕,或無此習慣或不可能;用於事物常表示擬人化)不肯;總是不;
例:he would notgive the names of his partners. 他拒絕講出他的夥伴們的名字。
6. would better (美好) 最好...
7. would rather 寧願(表選擇)
例:—Which would you rather do, go to the cinema or stay at home? 你要看電影,還是呆在家裡?
—I'd rather not say what I think. 我還是不說的好。
8. would that 要是...該多好
例: Would that we had seen her before she died. 要是她去世之前,能見到她一面該多好。
9. would you (表請求 )請
例:I ‘dlike some juice. 我想要一些果汁
徵求意見
在提問,徵求意見是用:“ Would you like to go to the movie with me ? ” 你想要和我一起去看電影么? 強調的是would like to 不表示“邀請”,而表示“請求”。
回答
在回答是肯定句為“Yes,I ’d like to ....”或是“I ‘d love to”再拒絕是要說謝謝,表示友好,語氣委婉一些:“I 'd love to, but I have to _____(do sth.). Thank you.”或是“No,thanks(thank you)."亦或是“I 'dlove to, but I don't have time. Thank you.”
