When read the first paragraph, I think if one person has good looks, I will thing that he/she is better than others, too. But I don’t think that has good looks is the most important thing for one person. If you want to have a good contact with other person, you must have character, sincerity and conversational ability, and so on. Not only have the good looks.
But if you have good looks, you will have a more important chance than the other who has not good looks. In the paragraph 2 the author uses the research studies to point out the opinion that good looks are a great asset. In fact, man and woman have the same opinion in the question that the good looks is or not important.
So I think the good look is not the most important thing, but is important thing.
