Today, I read the paragraph 19 to 22.
The author has given out some kinds of showoffs, such as competitive showoffs, narcissistic showoffs and Insecure showoffs.
In this section, the author introduced another kind of showoffs that was named exulting. It is a kind of showoffs that is acceptable. In the author's word, “exulting, however, may be a permissible form of showing off".
Compared with other three kinds of showoffs, exulting is lovely.
The author gave out two examples to show the lovely side of exulting.
First, her husband was exulting when he fried her an egg and set it before her. When we meet this kind of thing, we won't think he is showing off. This is a kind of lovely thing, which can show his love for his wife.
And the lovely grandma was exulting for her very first gorgeous grandson. Is she showing off? Yes. But maybe she would be the best grandma in the world.
