劇情
瑞克是一名中學教師，他婚姻失敗、工作也不順利，被調離了原來的工作單位，派往一所叫布蘭登的學校任校長。這所中學因暴力犯罪而臭名昭著。在這所學校里，吸毒販毒、搶劫、強姦等幾乎所有的暴力行為都已經是家常便飯，逃課、拒考等更是沒有人來管，到這裡任校長的人都沒有好結果。但瑞克一心想要將學校治理好，於是他制定了“禁止”章程。但在第一次的全體學生大會上，學生集團頭目鄧肯就給了瑞克一個下馬威。瑞克和以鄧肯為代表的暴力團伙之間的較量開始了。學校中逐漸接受了瑞克制定的管理制度的學生和老師遭到了鄧肯團伙的襲擊，瑞克對此非常惱火和自責，但鄧肯的這種行為並沒有動搖瑞克改變校風的決心，瑞克堅持要和鄧肯較量到底，把這個害群之馬繩之以法……雖然他的決心與作風引起社會與警方的不滿，但最後他獲得勝利，改變了學校的形象。
