In my opinion, such kind of showoff is a morbid compare. A person who wants to outshine all others is a pathetic self-contempt man. He always tries to find something superior to others regardless how slight that thing is. As we all know, the genuine giant never show off his achievements though he may be the founder of the whole country or the leader of a field. Maybe we shouldn’t compare ourselves with such giants, but if we continue immersing ourselves in these meaningless showoffs, our life situation will be in a mess in future. As the author mentioned in the article, can you imagine the place where all the people around are showing off all the time? It is natural that people want to keep his position and attract all the others’ attention, but they may be on the wrong way now. What they need to do is transfer their attention and energy to the other parts of life, showoffs is not the only thing in the world. After all, no one could bear that even the little girl’s present is mentioned as a kind of showoff.
