創作背景
CD《Should've Said No》的創作靈感來源於泰勒·斯威夫特高中時候的男朋友，根據Country Weekly雜誌的採訪，泰勒在16歲時，發現她的男友欺騙了她，於是寫下這首歌。在採訪中，她透露，那個男孩的名字是塞姆（Sam），不過她並沒有將這個名字像《Teardrops on My Guitar》中的德魯（Drew）、《Stay Beautiful》中的科里（Cory）之類的寫進歌詞里，她也說，創作這首歌時，最先出現在她腦海里的就是這首歌的副歌的第一句:You should’ve said no.副歌部分她只用了5分鐘就完成創作，而這首歌的很多歌詞，都是她當時面對男朋友時說過的話寫成的。
