One Direction是一個英國五人男子組合，成員包括：Liam Payne，Louis Tomlinson，Niall Horan，Harry Styles和前成員Zayn Malik。出道時，他們清一色的90後，平均年齡18歲。他們作為個人選手通過了The X Factor(英國偶像——一檔英國選秀節目，由Simon Cowell創辦)第七季（2010）的選拔賽，進入了訓練營，卻沒有成功進入男生組評審之家。在評審Nicole Scherzinger的提議下，這五個青少年被組成了一個組合，從而晉級，One Direction成立的這個美妙日子是2010年7月23日。One Direction最終未能進入決賽，成為了當季比賽的季軍。之後簽約唱片公司Syco Music。
