《Lemon Tree》是一首由Fool's Garden（愚人花園）於1994年12月4日首唱的鄉村歌曲，由Fool's Garden填詞譜曲，收錄在Fool's Garden1995年5月發行專輯《Dish of the Day》中 ，使這支原本寂寂無名的德國5人樂隊一下子紅遍歐洲，在被蘇慧倫翻唱後也開始為國人熟知。

創作背景

這首"Lemon Tree"是寫一位大男孩在某個下著太陽雨的星期天下午等著他的女朋友，歌曲將等人時的焦慮不安及胡思亂想的心情表現得淋漓盡致。

Fool's Garden幾乎可以和"Lemon Tree"劃等號，從最初組隊到由此曲走紅，Fool's Garden已在地下摸爬滾打了5年，其貌不揚的他們直到德國電台聽眾紛紛點播"Lemon Tree"時才為人所知。1996年這首傳唱至今的經典歌曲讓全世界記住了這個來自德國的年輕樂隊。然而也正是"Lemon Tree"所創造的輝煌巔峰將Fool's Garden推入了已有無數前車之鑑的"One Hit Wonder"的尷尬境地，重蹈覆轍的他們之後音樂再也未能超越"Lemon Tree"這首蜚聲全球的紅曲而漸漸地無人問津了。

彼得、保羅和瑪麗

同名歌曲Lemon Tree 最早的演唱者是60年代美國最有影響、最出色的民謠三重組合“彼得、保羅和瑪麗”。1962年“彼得、保羅和瑪麗”發行第一張LP唱片《Peter Paul & Mary》。一開始並沒有引起多少人注意，但後來選了其中一首《Lemon Tree》（檸檬樹）作為單曲出版，結果獲得成功，LP的銷量也直線上升。他們純淨的歌聲和典雅的和聲，使民謠的魅力為更廣泛的聽眾意識和接受。

“LEMON TREE”的確是一首少有的醒神之作，頗耐玩味。與以前的唱片相同，這張新專輯也充滿了六、七十年代的音樂感覺，暢快，濃郁，真性情的自然流露。 Fool's Garden的音樂取法THE BEATLES、THE ROLLING STONES。合唱、伴唱的運用使其表演色彩濃郁，感染力極強。

Fool's Garden的音樂回應了盛行的復古潮流，也讓人們在潮起潮落中驀然回首這一經住了時間考驗的音樂。《Lemon Tree》整首歌給人一種淡淡地歡快，什麼都不用想，什麼都不想做，只想坐在陽光里有一搭沒一搭地聽這首歌。曲子清新歡快，如果你有什麼煩惱和不快，輕哼一曲《Lemon tree》把煩惱統統丟開去！

其實初聽Lemon Tree，還未聽完，僅僅只是前面幾句，就給人一種淡淡的憂傷，無助的失落，淺淺的惆悵，雖然歌曲中的他的確是在等待女友。但是隨著歌曲旋律緩緩流淌，曲風又漸漸轉為輕鬆，明快，似乎之前的一切灰色調情愫統統都煙消雲散了，但這又何其不是樂景襯哀情，他追憶著女孩昨日所描繪的藍天，記憶雖然甜美，但現實卻非如此，面前孤立的檸檬樹啊，酸酸楚楚。

很多時候作者憑藉直覺創作的作品甚至連他自己都未意識到的情感，但是這又何礙？藝術的偉大之處就在於1000個觀眾有1000個感觸，酸甜苦辣，五味陳雜，這也正是生活的意義所在。
