Belinda Carlisle身為搖滾女樂隊The Go-Go's成員之一,BelindaCarlisle
是這支女子搖滾樂團於1984年解散後,唯一成功以單飛姿態再續音樂事業的團員。不再專注於The Go-Go's時期較為龐克取向的搖滾樂風，進而轉以較悅耳的成人流行搖滾曲調應戰，Belinda Carlisle的首張個人同名專輯於1986年正式發行，並締造了一首暢銷單曲「Mad About You」。兩年之後，她發行了第二張專輯「Heaven On Earth」，而這張專輯也成為她個人最成功暢銷的作品，同時也產生了兩首熱賣全球的單曲分別為「I Get Weak」，「Circle In The Sand」。
來年，她的第三張專輯「Runaway Horses」趁勝追擊，再為她增添多首暢銷之作包括「Leave A Light On」與「Summer Rain」。然而，時間進入90年代，由於1991年發行的「Live Your Life Be Free」專輯無法一如過往再創佳績，Belinda Carlisle的明星光芒也隨之逐漸消退。而於1993年發表的另一張失策之作後，她於來年號召舊友促成The Go-Go's的歷史性聚合。1996年所發行的「A Woman And A Man」專輯不但獲得不錯的銷售成績也得到樂評一致的推崇。
